Santiago – Central Valley – Vineyards

Travel Chile with this Escorted Private Tour. The vineyards south and west of Santiago do not only provide beautiful landscapes with vines set against the snow-capped Andes, but allow you to taste some of the best wines of the country. Your private guide will be waiting for you at the airport and accompany you throughout the whole trip, while attending to your every need, planning all the activities according to your wishes, and making sure that all you do is enjoy this One of a Kind! experience. According to individual wishes it is possible to plan 2 nights in Valparaíso and 1 in Santa Cruz or 1 night at the port town of Valparaíso and 2 at the vineyards near Santa Cruz.

Day 1: Valparaíso

Upon arrival, you will be warmly welcomed by your guide and driver who will be waiting for you at the airport of Santiago. The ride to Valparaíso passes through beautiful landscapes, with the backdrop of the Andes behind you and vineyards surrounding you all the way up to the coast. The Casa Higueras boutique hotel offers you a great welcome in the beautiful Cerro Alegre neighbourhood, announced Cultural Heritage by Unesco in 2003. Casa Higueras is located in one of the old mansions, constructed by English and German settlers in the beginning of the 20th century and has been completely restored into a stylish boutique hotel. You will find a carefully chosen mix of colonial style decoration, with modern top of the bill furniture and service. There are many things to do in the city and the surrounding areas. With the professional assistance of your guide, you will make up the itinerary for the following days according to your expectations and wishes. In the afternoon of this first day you could go on a walking tour through Valparaíso, a city tour to both Valparaíso and Viña del Mar, a visit the botanical gardens or maybe a refreshing kayak-tour in the Estero de Mantagua. Other possibilities for day excursions from Valparaíso are a visit to Isla Negra, the famous house of Nobel Prize winning poet Pablo Neruda, go hiking in the National Park of La Campana or spend a day at the pretty beaches of Papudo where you can simply relaxor enjoy horseback rides on the beach. For water enthusiasts this is a good spot for diving and surfing.

Overnight in Casa Higueras. (L, D)

For the upcoming nights you can choose spending two nights in Valparaíso and one in the Wine region in Santa Cruz or one in Valparaíso and two in the Wine region. According to that choice you will decide
what activities to plan with your guide.

Days 2 & 3: Valparaíso & surroundings or Santa Cruz & surroundings

Today you will enjoy the surroundings of Valparaíso for an entire or a half day. When travelling to the Wine region, you could decide to go on a half day excursion in Valparaíso and leave for Santa Cruz in the afternoon. In Santa Cruz you will be warmly received in the gorgeous Las Majadas Guesthouse located in the Viña Bisquertt winery: the heart of the Colchagua Valley. This family winery opened in the 1980s focusing on producing Premium quality wines for the national and international market. Las Majadas opened its doors about 3 years ago and offers top service in an absolutely amazing surrounding. The hotel is located in an old Casona dating back to 1870 and has been restored to fit
modern needs, while doing justice to its traditional old-days architecture and interior design. On the premises you will discover a horse cart museum, a saddle collection and make sure to pay a visit to the caves as well! The park surrounding the hotel is spacious and green, and you will surely enjoy a walk in the serenity of it. Just imagine spending the night under a star filled sky with a great glass of wine…
Possible excursions from Las Majadas obviously include a guided tour in the wineries, Bisquertt, Montgras and Montes, wine tasting, an astronomic tour, a mountain bike tour in the Viña las Niñas or a horseback ride in the Viña Hacienda Araucano including wine tasting. In the Viña Bisquertt there are possibilities to do a thematic tour in accordance with seasonal activities; tour of the harvest, the pruning or making your own wine. If you would like to get away from the grapes for some time, you can plan a visit to the impressive National Park 7 Tazas. Mountains and waterfalls preside here; an impressive sight and complementary to the coastal area and the wine valleys!

Overnight in Las Majadas. (Full Board)

Day 4: Back to Santiago airport

You will have breakfast in Las Majadas and depending on your flight timetable plan for another half day excursion. Afterwards, your driver and guide will take you to Santiago
s airport where you will board your connecting flight. (B)
