Day 1 Honduras Holiday: San Pedro Sula – Yojoa Lake – Cerro Azul Meambar National Park

To start Honduras Holiday tour we will shortly visit the down town area to observe the intense commercial activity of the fastest growing city in Central America. After our visit the local handicraft market “Guamilito” with its colourful stores, our journey continues through a scenic drive to the Lake Yojoa. The region around Lake Yojoa Lake rich in different habitat types; it is home or temporal host of a huge amount of migratory birds. Cerro Azul Meambar works as a retreating area for a lot of species because of increased human activities around the lake.

Day 2 Honduras Holiday: Cerro Azul Meambar NP

Today we explore the magnificent tropical forest types of the Cerro Azul Meambar National Park. The national park is one of the main protected areas around Lake Yojoa, which is fed by the small rivers of the surrounding mountains. We will hike to the interchange zone between the tropical rainforest and the tropical cloud forest enjoying impressive views of the lake.

Day 3 Honduras Holiday: Cerro Azul Meambar NP – Gracias

Morning transfer to Gracias. Gracias was founded in 1536 and served as colonial capital of Central America for some time. We discover the colonial history of Gracias with its churches and the fortress San Cristobal.

Day 4 Honduras Holiday : Gracias – Santa Rosa de Copán – Copán Ruinas

In the morning we transfer to Santa Rosa de Copán. We tour the village of Santa Rosa and visit the famous “Flor de Copán” tobacco factory. We continue our way to Copán Ruinas. En route learn about Mayan trade routes, social and political organization, and theories on their mysterious demise. We will enjoy beautiful countryside as we travel to the picturesque village of Copán.

Day 5 Honduras Holiday: Copán Maya site

After breakfast, it is our suggestion for you to visit the legendary Archaeological Park of Copán, a short 20-minute walk from the Copán town. For your visit you can hire a local guide or enjoy on your own. The site consists of two main sites: the ruins and the sepulchres. Learn about the impressive 63-step stairway with over 2,500 hieroglyphs and masterfully carved Stella.

Day 6 Honduras Holiday: Copán – San Pedro Sula

This morning is left free for you to explore Copán & its cobblestone streets. In the afternoon you will take the direct
bus to San Pedro Sula, where a hotel will be reserved for you.
